Spotted Lantern Fly in CT

Well here we are in 2026 and the spotted lantern fly is about to come on full force. We have been spotting it in the field the past two years with last year the general public coming into contact with the pest.

Although new to our state it is not new to the United States and trees are still alive where the pest is found. There seem to be a lot of scare tactics in use which is perpetuated by hysteria on social media. If you are reading this you probably are wondering what you can do.

Dormant oil sprays are effective in smothering the egg masses on the trees. This will prevent the nymphs from feasting on your beautiful maple trees come spring. If adults move to a tree we can apply contact sprays to wipe them out. We can also properly time product applications to keep the pest off of your trees. If you have a tree which seems to be a hub for all things spotted lantern fly and you want to prevent it from becoming one this year then give us a call. There are systemic options that will provide control of the pest throughout the growing season.
